Located near Immingham, Lincolnshire, Brocklesby House has a very unique clock maintained and refitted by John Harrison, the winner of the Longitude Prize and recipient of its £20,000 purse.

Without a formal education, Harrison invented and innovated clock movements to the point where the clock in Brocklesby House has been running maintenance free for the last 300 years.  No oiling and accurate to a few minutes a month.

It was here that Harrison invented the grasshopper escape mechanism, and basically set the stage for an odyssey spanning decades which made ocean navigation possible.

Brocklesby House is on my Destination list, and I would love to set my watch to their clock.
